ミシェル・レミュー Michèle Lemieux(カナダ)

Michèle Lemieux entered the world of illustration in the late 1970s. She published her first books in Germany, where she worked for five years before returning to Montreal. Since 1982, she has been teaching at the school of design at the Université du Québec à Montréal.
The 16 books to her name include Double espace, There Was an Old Man, The Pied Piper of Hamelin, Amahl and the Night Visitors, Winter Magic and What’s That Noise?
Her work is memorable for its gentle humour, its penchant for the unusual, its skilful blend of fun and seriousness. Ms. Lemieux is a fine observer of the hidden face of the world.
Gewitternacht (Stormy Night), her most recent work, has won the prestigious Grand Prize of the 1997 Bologna Book Fair and a number of other international awards.
Stormy Night is Ms. Lemieux’s first animated film.
